A front door is the one thing we sell where how it looks matters as much as what it does. It is the first thing anyone sees and it is also a rated opening, and those two pull against each other unless the door is built for both.
Fiberglass or aluminum slabs. Fiberglass takes a convincing wood grain and insulates better, which matters on a door that faces west. Glass runs from a small vision panel through half lite to full lite, clear, obscured, textured or decorative with leaded or wrought iron detail. Sidelights one or both sides, with or without a transom above.
Painted finishes in any color, and wood grains from light oak through to dark walnut and mahogany. Hardware in satin nickel, oil rubbed bronze, matte black, brass or chrome. Multipoint locks come in the same finishes, and a smart lock can be fitted to most of them if that is what you want.
The slab and the glass do most of it. A solid fiberglass door with a vision panel is one end, decorative full lite with two sidelights and a transom is the other. Hardware moves it less than people expect. What can move it is the opening itself, if the door has dropped or the threshold and floor need work.
Front doors carry a Miami-Dade NOA or Florida Product Approval rated for your address, covering the frame, slab and hardware as one assembly. Sidelights and transoms are part of the same approval. Permitted in Lee and Collier, pulled by us, inspected at final.

The rating comes from the whole assembly, frame and slab and hardware approved together for your wind zone. The look comes from the slab style, the glass and the finish. A good impact front door gives you both, so the house is protected to code without looking like it is wearing armor.
Every other day it is the door doing the quiet things a front door should. Sealing out the heat and the afternoon sun, shutting off the street noise, locking solid at three points, and giving the front of the house the face you actually wanted when you bought it.

Pick your slab, glass and hardware
This is the fun one. Style, glass, finish and lock. We bring samples rather than sending you a catalog.
3.
We pull the permit
Product approvals for the whole assembly including sidelights, plus the permit in your county.
4.
We hang it and meet the inspector
Our own crew. Frame set and shimmed, threshold sealed, and the door adjusted so it closes with one hand.

Impact windows or hurricane shutters, which should I actually get?
Both meet code. Impact windows are permanent: nothing to put up, nothing to store, and they also help with noise, UV and security. Shutters and screens cost less up front and work well for lanais and large slider runs, but someone has to close them before a storm. Many homes use a combination of both.
