About us

Who you’re letting into your house.

Family-run out of one shop in Fort Myers. Our own crew measures it, fits it and meets the inspector. Nobody else touches your openings.

Who we are

Impact windows in Fort Myers.

Sunshine State is a family business working out of one shop in Fort Myers. Twenty years, the same building, the same name on the truck. We are not a roofer who added windows and we are not a franchise office, and that is deliberate: doing one trade for twenty years is the only way anybody gets good at it.

We measure your openings ourselves, pull the permit ourselves, install with our own crew and meet the inspector at final. Nothing is handed to a sub who leaves the county when season ends, which is the entire reason our warranty is worth the paper it is printed on. Storms come through and the contractors who arrived with them leave again. We were here before, and we are here after.

The whole list is impact windows, impact and entry doors, sliding glass doors, hurricane shutters and hurricane screens. Keeping wind and water on the outside of Florida homes. Nothing else, which is why we are good at it.

More Than Windows.
It’s Protection You Trust.

Sunshine State Hurricane Protection safeguards Southwest Florida homes with impact-rated products, careful permitting and installation by our own local crew.

Impact-Rated Protection

One Local Crew

We measure, permit and install every job with our own team, so responsibility never gets passed around.

Clear From Quote to Final

Who You’re Actually Hiring

Anybody can print a magnet for a truck door. These are the four things you can go and check on us yourself, before you sign anything.

Go and look at the windows

Ask us for addresses near you and we will give you them. Twenty years in three counties means there is almost certainly a house we glazed within a few miles of yours. Stand on the street and look at the sightlines, the frame color and the stucco line around the opening, which is where a rushed install shows first.

You can come to the shop

One address in Fort Myers. Come and put your hands on a laminated unit before you buy one. An impact window is a twenty-year purchase and it is worth twenty minutes to see the frame and the glass edge in person rather than in a brochure.

The approval numbers go on your quote

Every window carries a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance or a Florida Product Approval rated at or above what your address’s wind zone requires, and the specific numbers for your openings are printed on the quote. Most impact window quotes just say “impact rated” and leave it there, which tells you nothing about what you are actually getting.

There is exactly one company to call

The person who measures your openings is on our payroll, and so is the person who fits them. That matters more on windows than on almost anything else we do: a rated unit installed to the wrong fixing schedule is no longer a rated unit, and there is nobody to argue with about it later.

Sunshine State’s Core Principles

Show Up

We arrive when we say we will, keep you informed, and never leave an opening exposed when Florida weather is moving in.

On The Money

The number on your contract is the number you pay. Every opening is itemised clearly, with no invented change orders halfway through.

No Runaround

Your project manager is reachable, the permit is handled, and the same local team stays responsible from measure through final inspection.

No Middleman Parts

We install manufacturer-approved impact products sourced for your address and wind zone, never mystery substitutions.

Leave It Clean

Old units are removed, openings are sealed and finished, debris is cleared, and your home is left ready to use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to your impact window questions. No contractor games or hidden fluff, just the facts about how we protect your Florida home.

How does Sunshine State differ from other contractors?

We aren’t storm chasers. We are local owners working out of one shop in Fort Myers, and we measure, permit, install and warranty every job with our own crew. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor who leaves the county after season.

Both meet code. Impact windows are permanent: nothing to put up, nothing to store, and they also help with noise, UV and security. Shutters and screens cost less up front and work well for lanais and large slider runs, but someone has to close them before a storm. Many homes use a combination of both.

Yes, for anything that changes an opening, in both Lee and Collier. We pull it, we submit the product approvals and we meet the inspector at final. You do not deal with the county.

Most of Bonita Springs, Estero and Fort Myers is in a 150 mph design-wind-speed zone, with higher requirements along the coast and barrier islands. Every product we install carries a Miami-Dade NOA or Florida Product Approval that meets or exceeds the requirement for your address.

Custom units run six to ten weeks from the factory. Install is usually one to three days depending on how many openings. We tell you the real lead time before you sign, not after.

We serve Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties, including Bonita Springs, Naples, Estero, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Marco Island, Sanibel and Captiva, Punta Gorda and nearby communities. See the full service area.
